Hey, I purchased a Lowrance X-16 color and it works awesome locating fish and in the GPS mode also. The only problem I have with this unit is when I fire it up I get a lot of interferance on my AM-FM radio. I'm not sure if the antenna needs to be moved or what to do to correct the problem. Also, when I turn down the brightness of the screen it gets worse. Can anyone out there tell me how to correct the problem. Thanks alot. Al

Check to see if you have both connected to the same circut. I run a fuse bank, and the lead to the fuse bank is seperate from any other wiring. I run a seperate harness to the bank, then run my leads from electronic's to fuse bank.

If this does not help, then maybe your antena's are too close to each other.

Hope this helps,

I had this problem with my marine radio and I got a 12 volt inline filter at an electronics store and put it on the radio.

Mel: Were you also using a Lowrance product?? I was actually wondering if a filter might be the solution. Did you put the filter on the marine radio or the Lowrance or locator unit??

Thanks

I have lcx16 also and my marine radio and locator are mounted close togeather in an electronics consol on my lund tiller boat. When mounting these I found that the more space between the units the less interferance but I wanted them in the consel. I put the filter in series with the 12 positive & negitive line to the radio and it cured the noise problem. I got my filter out of a JC Witney catolog. Mel
