I just ordered a 1800 Pro V w/ 175 Yamaha and 8 hp kicker and I'm pumped(and broke)!! I'm planning on a X15 on dash and a Hummingbird 2000? on the bow. Any suggestions on the trolling motor?
I have a new Minnkota All terrain but is only 4' so I need a different one. Also mounting bracket for the kicker?? Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thanks and see you on the water!!!

Checkout Reeds outdoor sports. They have specials on their Pinpoint trolling motors right now.

congratulations and thank you on behalf of lund!

i run the 1800 prov myself as my tournament boat. make sure you get the longest bowmount shaft available. i use the 74v maxxum. it works well with that boat and is all the power you need and battery life you need.
again, thanks and have agreat fishing year from us at at lund!

There are now built in transducers available on the bottom of the trolling motors. I'm not sure which graphs go with which motors but you might want to look in to this as an option before you buy the Hummingbird. I think Minnkota and Motorguide both offer this now. If I'm not right, someone will surely straighten me out. It might save you some money if you can buy it all as one unit. I don't know about this stuff because I'm not one to constantly upgrade but if I was buying I'd certainly check all the options first. Good Luck in your search.

Sorry...Cabelas has the sale on Pinpoint, not Reeds. The 2000 series motors, your choice, $999.99.

You can have the shaft of your trolling motor lengthened by an authorized MinKota dealer/service center for a fraction of the cost of a new TM. If you like the TM you have you may want to consider this option.

Before going with the built in transducers, I would talk to lowrance or other prostaffers. I was told that the built in units, because of their need to accomadate numerous units, really suffer in sensitivity. They pretty much talked me out of build in transducers at this time.
My 2 cents,

Like s.f. said the minnkota maxxum is an excellent TM. I run the 74lb 60" shaft on my lund 2025 and it seems to be all the power I need even in moderate winds.......I think the cost on this unit is around 769.00 I am not sure the exact price but I am in the ballpark. I am sure there is many options out there but this is my opinion...........

I have a minnkota genesis 48-60" shaft and 74lbs on 24 volts, ilove it, its so easy and they have all the kinks out. They are a great machine. I would STAY AWAY from pinpoint i have some friends who are sponsored by them and they cant even send motors anywhere, there is so much confusion with them. I would also stay with Lowrance the entire way. No hummingbird. I would go with pro bracket or panther, for the kicker.

CONGRATS ON THE BOAT. I'M SURE YOU'LL BE PLEASED WITH IT. AS FAR AS MOUNTS GO, MOUNT YOUR MOTOR TO THE TRANSOM AND USE A PANTHER STEERING PLATE ONLY. FRIENDS OF MINE THAT USED THE PANTHER STEER AND TRIM HAD PROBLEMS. LONG RUNS IN MED. TO LARGE WAVES TAKE THERE TOLL. IF YOU GO THAT ROUTE, STRAP THE MOTOR TO KEEP FROM BOUNCING.
AS FOR TROLLING MOTORS, I USE A MINNKOTA AUTO-PILOT. 24VOLT 60" SHAFT 54# MOTOR. THE FOOT CONTROL WILL REACH THE BACK OF THE BOAT, SO YOU CAN RUN YOUR TROLLING PROGRAM AND WATCH YOUR RODS. THE AUTO FEATURE WORKS WELL TROLLING AS WELL. ALOT OF GUYS WILL RUN THE KICKER TO MOVE FORWARD (SPEED) AND USE THE BOWMOUNT TO STEER. WORKS GREAT!
YOU,LL FIGURE IT OUT.
GOOD LUCK ON THE WATER, TODD
