Hey gang.
Just recieved a new Cabelas Tackle Shop catalog in the mail today. On the inside cover of this catalog is an intro/announcment to Cabela's new Speciality Catalogs for 2003. They range from Cabelas Bass, Trout Salmon and Steelhead, Salt water, and finally Just a Walleye catalog. All new for 2003.

How neat is that, to have a regular (non special) printing of specific catalogs for specific fish species. Ordering one of these special catalogs is simple enough. Call 1-800-844-2267.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered the walleye specialty catalogue via their online chat service. Jay

Great. I used to love it when they would put together a walleye special catalog. Now, hopefully they will simply print one every year with all the new walleye goodies and ship it to me. I want to add if you call the 800 number, that they ask you what catalog you want order. Simply say, the new Special Walleye Catalog.

Yep. Pretty cool. I was going to post on the "favorite magazine" thread that my fav is Cabelas.

When they put the store in Dundee,Mi, the newpaper wrote an article about Cabelas. At that time, they said they put out over 25 million catalogs that year. Thats amazing. Its probably more now.

Unfortunatly, Cabelas Canadians customers don't deserve those catalogs, Cabelas don't want our money anymore, even if some of us are very, very good customer but I will switch for an another supplyer that respect me.

Wow!!! Did I miss a thread on this subject? Whats the deal? Why won't Cabela's ship their catalogs to Canadians? Last I heard the monitary exchange was off some, but money is money. What's the scoop?

I just ordered the new Walleye catalog via their online chat service, too. Good tip! They said this particular catalog would start shipping in March.

I agree. Gotta love that Tackle Shop catalog! Just wish they'd list more running depths next to the crankbaits. Especially the new ones.

A somewhat off topic question. Wondering if anyone else has gotten a hard cover version of Cabela's master catalog. They sent my dad one last year...pretty cool looking. But then again, he buys everything but his groceries from them.

Nope, never got a hard cover version from them. And if anybody ever earned one, I think I have. I'd be afraid to figure out what I've spent there in the last 15 years.

I asked about the hardcover version last year when I heard people were getting them. They said they sent some out at random. Then they tried to sell me one for $9.95 I think it was.

I think if they guaranteed Me the prices to stay the same for a few years, I'd but a hard cover version:-).

They sent me a hard copy one last year. I've been a pretty good customer of theirs, but was surprised to see the hard bound one. It's arranged with major sections tabbed.

Same deal with me. Said 4 to 6 weeks. Maybe they were flooded with orders because of either the popularity or novelty of the walleye catalog offer.

I picked up the Bass catalog at their Owatonna store today. They said the Walleye catalog would not be availble until early March.

lucky you at least you are eligible for getting one. Not us poor Canadian!
How sweat they are.
I won't buy anymore from Cabelas; they don't deserve it.

I asked you on your earlier post (Same Thread) why Candians dont get the cabelas catalog anymore. Can you or anybody answer that question?

Walleye Express:

I received Cabela's Master Catalogue Spring 2003 on Thursday right here in the heart of Canada. As I said earlier, walleye specialty catalogue now on order. Consequently, don't know what's up with Nemio. Jay

I've tried to order through internet with a representative of Cabelas (chatting) and the answer was those catalogs are not available in Canada. This is the answer they gave me.

Nemio:

I telephoned Cabela's this afternoon at 1-800-237-4444 (Cabela's customer relations) and I was assured that Canadians can order and receive regular Cabela catalogues (e.g. Master catalogue, Tackle Shop). Unfortunately, with regard to the specialty catalogues (e.g. the walleye catalogue), apparently these catalogues are not normally available in Canada (I was told that Canada was on a list of destinations where specialty catalogues would not be made available). The Cabela's representative could not provide the rationale for that decision. Jay

I too I've received my master but I for sure won't buy anything from Cabelas anymore. Luckily being a member on WC I now got a wider choice of supplyer.
I am unhappy with the Cabelas decision because of my history as a very good customer I think a deserve better then a NO not for you.

Is there something in the walleye catalog that is not sold in the master catalog?

If I recall. They do have more of a selection of the walleye specific stuff. In essence though, its just all the stuff (Spring/Summer/Fall) used mainly for walleye fishing, grouped into one catalog.

Because I'm only a poor Canadian I can not answer to that cause I'm not able to compare.

They were advertised on the back of the first page, in the Tackle Catalog issue I/we just recieved last. I believe by calling there toll free number, you can order one. Or try their chat line like some of the others mentioned. (UNLESS YOU LIVE IN CANADA)

What's the deal? All this talk has got me excited to see, but no catalog my way yet. Bummer as I am a card member too. Got the Bass Pro catalog though.

You have to let them know you want one. They wont just send it to you off hand.

Thanks WE. I just assumed they would send me one as I have received many in the past. Boy I would have been waiting a long time. :)

I to wonder why Cabelas don't create a Prefered Customer List. That would include the guys who almost yearly spend $500.00+ dollars every single year at their stores. Those would be the first recipients of any special catalogs.

Remember when both BP and Cabelas asked you to buy the newer catalogs? I wrote them back once, asking them to take it out of the $10,000.00 I've spent there over the years. The Catalog arrived 6 days later, NO CHARGE.

Frankly, I find it more convenient to have all of the tackle for all species in one catalog.
