I have just purchased a set of adjustable roller guide-ons. I was wondering if anyone has experience mounting these on their trailers? How far out from the side of the boat do you set them? How high up the side of the boat should they be? Any help would be appreciated.

Not a lot of experience here on this topic but you have not had a hit on the subject so here goes.
I mounted a pair of these (deluxe model) on my trailer a while back and realized I did not need them once I figured I was backing my trailer too far into the water. I could have left them on but the rattle they made going down the road just irritated me to no end.
As far as how high to mount them. I would say to mount them high enough so when the boat touches them, the guides touch the widest part of your boat(excluding the gunale). If the widest part of your boat is one foot down from the gunale, mount them that high if possible. As far as how wide to mount them; the widest part of your boat has to be able to pass between them so I had mine so maybe 1/2 to 1 inch of clearance on either side was all the room I gave 'em. You want to be able to get that boat on the trailer centered when the wind is kicking up.
Hope this helps ya.
