Hey guys. Just wondering what techniques you use when Lindy rigging? Any little tricks to your method? Thanks for your time, Junky.........

I don't use a barrel swivel. I slip the weight onto the line and then tie on the hook. I use a very small split for adjesting the length between weight and hook. Been doing it for years with no additional break offs.
I also like colored hooks and at times use barrel weights.

I'm with SUNSHINE, I used to help my dad guide in Minnesota and we used split shots too. Mostly to be able to adjust up and down faster and quicker tie ups.

Using fireline to the swivel and "Vanish" for the snell has worked well for me. I also tie the "cheater rig" (as I call it) with the Lindy No-Snagg held back from the hook with the tiniest little split shot I have. I do this often and like at least 8# test mono in this application. I like light weights for pitching and try to remember to go a little heavier then I used to when pulling as I am doing better by not letting the rig get too far away from me. Sometimes when I'm pulling I have to push myself to go slow enough. I alos like long rods (at least 7 1/2', with light tips for feel and length and heavy back end for hook sets. I also use snel lengths form 18 inches to 6 - 8 feet, depending on the application.
Good luck

I have started using the Northland Roach sinkers because I can change weights without having to retie. I also use a BB split shot instead of a swivel. No breakoffs yet due to pinching the line, but I am very careful. Am thinking about experimenting with fluorocarbon this year because I fish some very clear, highly pressured lakes.

Great info guys. Now, how are you working them? Are you basically jigging your sinker, or are ya off the bottem? Thanks again, Junky....

I use a small bead in between the swivel and sinker with flourocarbon leader.Drifting is highly effective especially with a floating jig with a twister tail and leech or minnow. Out west here we also use Spin Glo's alot with real good success.1 for the pan.... 2 for release
