Hammered gold without a doubt has been my best color. After that I always have a couple in Chartreuse and Pink ready to go.

Hey buddy.
I like tying harnesses with quick change clevisis. That way you can bring a ton of different colors if you like and swap out blades in a flash.
Speaking of flash, my favorite for the western basin is hammered chrome.

If you're used to fishing inland lakes, be prepared to move up to bigger blades. A lot of times, size 5 blades will outcatch any of the smaller ones.

top producers
1. gold plated w/red beads
2. perch printed (rileys has a good one)w/green beads
3. black w/green beads, stick an eye on the face of the blade
4. chartruse w/chartruse floats.
all with #4 blades except #3 for black all 5mm beads 3 or 4 below the first blade 5 between the blades. only one blade on the floater.
just for your info western erie is a crank bait lake early in the season. eyes are suspended until late may so if you plan to run spinners you will need snap weights or dipseys. we usually run hot n tots in the 8- 15 ft zone to be productive. chrome/blue, gold/black, perch, fire tiger, crayfish. a few other cranks are producers wiggle warts, deep little rippers ect. but the tots are alwaws my first go to crank. start with the darker colors early then progress to the lighter ones as the day brightens.
