I am going to set up a couple rods for trolling and want to try Power Pro instead of Fireline. I was thinking of using 20lb high vis. Does this line fade like Fireline? Is 20lb. Power Pro a good choice for trolling or is there another recommended strength? Thanks.

i spolled a few reels with the 20\6 power pro last spring. It is the best stuff I've used. The packaging tells you that it will eventually fade, but it is not worn out. It handled some nice lakers and stripers as well as eyes. The next batch of reels I refill are going to get the 15/4. Rich

The regular fades but is still fine to use. I've never used the hi vis, but would imagine that's the same story since the fiber doesn't hold color well.

I use the 30/8 on my reels for Striper and probably for Walleye in the spring. The only potential drawback that I have noticed so far seems to be that we are loosing quite a few fish. (Most likely operator error ;) )
There have been many suggestions on why. Too little line stretch or the fish just not hitting as aggressviely as they were before the water dropped below 50.
My thought is that the fish are not hitting as aggressively as they were in the earlier part of the year. We seem to have missed a lot hitting live bait that is being trolled with sucker minnows hooked through the snout with no trailer/stinger hook. We are going to try a trailer/stinger this weekend and see if it increases our catch rate.
Good luck,
