Wifes family is having a reunion on Poinsette late June. Is it worth me dragging the boat and staying a couple extra days? Looks like a big shallow bowl, but.....?
Walk softly and carry a big fish.

I would bring the boat. June can be a great time at Poinsett. The walleye bite is going good by then and Sumo Silver Bass will keep you very busy. IMHO Crankin' at a good clip produces alot of fish at that time of year. A few jumbo Perch may take a shine to your cranks also. Best Cranks? Number 5 walleye Divers are a good choice or Hot n Tots, in natual colors, perch, minnow etc...I caught many Northerns over 8 lbs while crankin for eyes there last year near that same time frame. Good Luck....Also your only about a half hour from Lake Thompson, 2 minutes to Lake Albert and a little over an hour from the Northeastern Glacial lakes and some of these should be going good then also. Point being, when going to South Dakota always bring the boat :)

Just like the above post stated, if Poinsett isn't on, you've got lakes galore to choose from withing 20 minutes. Absolutely bring the boat.
Heck, there's a tourney just about every weekend on Poinsett in JUNE bring your boat and your partner.
I'll be fishing Poinsett the last three weekends in June. If you only want to get out for a day, leave your boat at home and get ahold of me. I'll take you out.

If you dont bring ther boat, you will for sure wish you had. Better safe than sorry, besides, what better way to get away from a family rebellion?
