Last year one of the SD lakes raised it's limits for smaller walleye. I don't remember which one it was. Does anyone know if the limits are the same for 2003 and what the name of the lake is?

Are you referring to the Lake Oahe only limits? I do believe it was 10 fish per day with no more than four over 15" and only one over 20".

I am not sure which lake it was. I read about it in a magazine last year. The article stated that the lake appeared to have too many smaller walleye, therefore the DNR raised the limit for smaller fish.

I remember it was South Dakota, but could not remember the lake name.

Great Plains Game & Fish reported that Lake Oahe raised the limit to 20 fish per day. Don't remember what size restrictions were, but geared to removing fish between 12 & 15 inches. No idea if was removed for 2003, but if not, I'll be there. Great lake!!

This is Lake Oahe in SD on the Missouri River.
In 2001 there was a 14 Walleye limit and in 2002 it was 10. For 2003, you can have 10 Walleye - no more than 4 15" or longer and no more than one of those may be 18" or longer. I don't believe the limit was ever 20 as only the past 2 years have had the increased limits.

Limits are as follows:

Daily possession is 10 fish per day per person, with the following size restrictions. 4 of these fish can be over 15", and only one of these can be over 18". Plus you my catch and keep 6 additonal fish under 15". The total possession limit will be 3 daily limits, or a total of 30 fish. Same as last year. Good luck and good fishing.

Check the maps, this is not your ordinary lake, as its a couple hundred miles long, and several miles across. Big water that requires a big boat on most days.
