Fishing buddy and I will be heading up to Devils lake for the first time this coming monday for a three day trip. Have been frequently checking the report at www.edsbaitshop.com. Sounds like nothing to hot yet, but were looking forward to the trip just the same. Any of you ever been up there on the ice? At 80,000+ acres it seems a little overwhelming. We will be getting a map or two and hopefully some helpful info up at Ed's. Thanks for anything that may be of help!

Fishing has been tough lately. A cold front(and I mean Cold)has moved in and I am guessing that is dramatically impacting the bite. Should be enough ice to move around the lake. First recommendation is buy the Pro Pointer map for the lake available at the baitshops. They are well marked with names and have GPS locations on the map. Second is be ready to drill some holes and keep moving until you find fish. For walleyes I would recommend the Hwy 20 & 57 bridges early in the morning and late in the day. For perch talk to the bait shops. I won't be up this weekend, but hopefully this cold front will end soon and I will be up there. Tightlines.
