Does anyone know what the phone number is of the company who sells the tri-colored maggots mail order from the back of the In-Fisherman Magazine? A guy on the lake the other day was using them on the bottom treble of a jigging Rapala, he gave me some and they are deadly!!! You don't move the Rapala much at all.... a little bit up and down and even less side to side with long pauses in between. These maggots are hard and squirm a lot and don't fall off after being in the water a long time.

Thanks, Adam.

The tricolor maggots might actually be eurolarvae. The guys at Vados are worth talking to.

I agree spikes or maggots are good ice fishing baits. My questions is now that I have ordered 1000 spikes, how do you take care of them and keep them from croaking. I suppose ideally, you split an order with a fellow fisherman. Thanks

As soon as you get them, get a large tub and lay some newspaper in it. Pour them on the paper, let then crawl around a bit as they warm up. Have a large margarine tub with holes for air in the lid, with fresh sawdust ready, transfer them from the old sawdust to the new. Dont crowd them, put the container in the fridge. Every few days, pick out any dead ones, change the sawdust every week or so, they should last a long time this way.

Be sure to remind your wife that you have a 1000 maggots in her fridge! They get a little testy when they discover that as a surprise!

Just a question here fellas. Have any of you noticed Walleye showing an interest in the scent from maggots, as my experiance with Steelhead has been positive with them, I'm curious if eye's are attracted too.
any feedback on this, experiance to support they work here??

During mid ice when fishings real slow maggots can save the day. Go with small tears or jigs tipped with mags.

I gotta share this.

I picked up a little petry dish of waxies in early/mid December. I guess I put them in an inside pocket of my work parka. Sure as you-know-what, I forgot about them. I looked in the pocket this weekend and found... yup. A whole dish full of moth-flies. I don't suppose puttin' a hook thru any of those will catch me anything! ;-)

Hmmm... my own fridge? Maybe I can trade some closet space for cold-storage!!
