I've been hearing a lot about 3 way rigging Michigan Stinger Spoons with a Hot n Tot. Can anyone tell me EXACTLY how these rigs are set up? Do you use a 3 way swivel or just different length leaders? I'd like to try this on Erie this year. I have purchased a dozen or so scorpion spoons for this purpose. I also wanted to know could these spoon/crank rigs be run off planner boards, (any special problems)?
Thanks.

2-3 foot leader with 20# braid on the down for the hot-n-tot. 6ft leader w/mono for the spoon on the up. good luck

Trollerman2 are you saying go from main line to a 3way swivel then the 2' and 6' leaders? Do you need an extra ball bearing swivel for the spoon?

About all I can add to that is let the rig out very slowly or the spoon & tot will stall , causing a tangle when the spoon sinks . Also the same thing will happen on a sharp turn , so try to avoid that . Usually I'll run a B.B.-swivel at the spoon . Spinner harness's work in place of the spoon , too .
