5 of us will be fishing out of Border View Lodge on Monday and Tuesday. Wondering if there are any recent reports for that area, how deep, what are they hitting on ? Any comments / suggestions would be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

I do not know how it will be out of baudette but I have friends that have been going to Arnesen and fishing by Rocky Point resort houses and doing very well on big perch and saugers in 33 ft water.
They enter the ice through Babel resort access and then with the thin snow they drive anywhere you want but basically follow roads and fish deeper than the pack.
I have heard it is a little slow out of Baudette but that is only a few people I know.
If you have a portable bring it with and if the resort will not move ya to a new house with fish move yourself.
Use glow baits with emerald shiners or big flashy spoons with the same for bait.
Have fun and give us a report on the resort and the fishing when ya get back.

Pitts,
Just got back tonite, fishing was pretty slow. Only 4 of us went (one turned up sick right before we left), Monday we caught about 30-40 'eyes and saugers but only 3 were over 1 lb (1.1, 1.5, and 2.7 lbs). Tuesday we caught maybe 15 total, with only 2 over 1 lb, but also picked up a 1.1' perch, and the usual 3-4 pouts. Sounds like the other houses weren't doing too good either. I guess that's the way it goes sometimes, we still had a good time, just getting away and forgetting about everything.

Thanks man I am out of here fri and up to LOW sat morn.
I agree the saugers and some eyes are small but 1# plus perch and 3 or 4 big eyes each trip is well worth the effort.
