I would like to hear some opinions on using Cabela's Pro Line vs using Berkley XT. I would be using this on diawa line counters for trolling Saginaw Bay. I have mostly used XT but have heard some good things about the Pro Line. Any comments??

I have just started using pline to tie up spinner rigs. It seems to have a good breaking strength but I'm not sure about abrasion resistance although it is supposed to have it. I have noticed that it is more limp than xt. Who makes pline? I know it comes from Cabela's but who makes it for them? Berkley? Stren?

if you are talking about P-Line it is made by P-Line

I think Cabelas Pro Line is something different

Yes, I was talking about Cabela's Pro-line. Thanks for correcting me. I am still wondering who makes it for them - I suspect Berkley.

I've been using Cabela's Pro Line for several years now. I have no complaints whatsoever, in fact, I think you'll be hard-pressed to find another mono that is even as good...at any price. It is pretty limp and has very good knot strength. As far as abrasion resistance compared to Trilene XT, I can't answer that. I have never felt that it's any worse than any other line for abrasion resistance, though. Heck, for $6.99 a spool it's worth a try. We've all spent more $$ on dumber things!

i was at the river several weeks ago and fished with a fellow for the 1st time who was using the cabelas pro-line and i was quite impressed with it, i have used berkley trilene for so many years i can,t even remember and i,m scared to change cause i know i have a good thing in the trilene but that 6 lb pro-line he was using was just plain impressive, i have talked myself into getting a spool and putting it to the test this spring, who knows maybe you CAN teach an old dog new tricks afterall.
