I was reading in a magazine that the Walleye--after the spawn period move to shallow water---anywhere from 2 to 10 feet of water --Does this information that I got from the magazine a typical pattern for Walleye after the spawn period or does it depend on the Lake???

I think it does vary some from lake to lake, but generally, here is what seems to happen in my area. Right fter the spawn, the walleye seem to scatter throughout the lake, though a fair number, usually smaller males, hang around the spawning areas for a good while. The bite seems to get much tougher, though my best luck at this time of year has been rigging with live bait (minnows)in five to 15 feet of water. I also have had decent luck during this time fishing at night in the shallows, with Husky Jerks and Rattling Rogues. Buy some of the In-Fisherman books on walleye for in depth information on seasonal patterns.
