I'm adding a second sonar to my boat and was wondering if having both transducers next to each other (back of boat) will effect my readings with both sonars on. Both are 200 kHz. Thanks for any tips.

If you have both sonars on at the same time you'll have interference.

Even if one is mounted on the bow, as soon as you're over deep enough water for the coverage cones/zones to overlap, you'll start having problems...once again, if both are on at the same time.

I run two humingbird transducers side by side and it has no interpherence. So I guess it depends, some models are designed to work together.

I believe if they are a different frequency, no problems. With your situation, I think you will have trouble. Let us know.

If you have two different transducer frequencys, you will not have any trouble. When running the same frequencys, with both units on, they will interfere with each other. You may not notice it if you are running in "automatic" mode, since the finders ability to clear up the clutter, but it will also "clean up" the picture so much that you will not be able to any fish or bait fish on your screen.
