Can anyone tell me the difference between a Gator Big Water mount and a Gator II Big Water mount???????

I'm making the assumption that both of these mounts work on a Pinpoint.

Am I correct in making the assumption that no extender bracket is needed to lay the PinPoint in a locked, cradled position for traveling and that it would not look like a piece of crap.

Since I have not physically seen one it's difficult to imagine.

Any good info would be appreciated.

Mike,

You get the Gator II with a 50 inch shaft, and the Big Water Gator II with a 60 inch shaft. They look almost identical, except that the Big Water Gator II mount is stretched out for the longer shaft. With a 60 inch shaft Pinpoint and a Big Water Gator II it stows the motor great, nothing hanging off the front of the boat and no velcro strap to hold it down. It locks in both the stowed and running positions. The lock pins are 3/8 inch stainless.

The Gator Big Water is the older style of mount and the Big Water Gator II is the newer style. They both accomodate the 60" shafts.

Check out Cabelas or Bass Pro catalogs. The new Excel Motorguides feature the Gator II's (Big Water and just Gator mount). I believe the older Energy style Motorguides feature the older Gator/Big Water Gator mounts.

I don't know what the differences are in design cuz I have the Gator II and never had the other.
