Question on foot control autopilot?

Hi,
I have a question with other autopilot users.

When you put the switch down on the autopilot will it shut off on you, and when you lift it up just a tad then it will run. I cant have my foot control switch on the right side of the pedal for the constant control all the way down. I have to lift it up just a tad. Is this like this on all autopilots or is mine just defective. I bought it just new. It is the 65PD/AP.

I don't have any problem with mine either. I bought mine in '98 and have no complaints yet.

it shouldn't be this way
i haven't looked but perhaps there is a set screw to adjust the "throw" on the switch
if not they need to replace it
