Have always used Fish On rod holders without any problems even when fishing Dipseys but would like to try RAM rod holders due to the increased height the rod would set at and how this would allow me to vary the distance the rod tip is off the water when trolling for fish other than walleye such as Musky. The question I have is ,are they strong enough to troll with Dipsy Divers? Would appreciate any information you have from your experiences. Thanks, Coach.

I use the origional Rams, they work fine for dipsies.

another option is the extensions that Scotty makes. i think they will work with your Fish-ons and raise up about 15". i have both and both are nice. if the Scotty is compatible with the Fish-on it allows you to move it anywhere you have a Fish-on holder base. the RAm's are nice. One of those decisions where you can't make a bad one.

Used the New Ram Rod Holders all last year on size 1 dipsey's pulling around 2.5 mph - no sweat.
I use the Ram 2000 for dipsies and everything else up to and including muskie
they work great and have never failed, they have been on my boat for about 3 years
