Hi Wallier,
I am planning on putting my boat on Lake Marie on Sunday to check out the water temperatures in the shallows. I will toss some small jigs tipped with minnows and small shad raps to see if any of the walleyes are up tight to shore. Sunday should be the best day out of the weekend as it will be in the sixties an skies should be overcast. Next week their predicting temps in the upper 70's, which will really get things moving.
Hope to see you out there.

Fish the mouth of the north and south rivers with live bait rigs or 3 way rigs. Don't be afraid to fish shallow, like less than 4 feet. Fox Lake is also a good bet at this time of the year.

I'll be on Marie also Sun. I'll be targeting walleyes also(my first time walleye fishing on the chain in open water).I'll try trolling cranks and pitching jigs.I'll post a report Mon.Good luck.

Hi JJanickas,
Where would you suggest launching your boat? I thought about putting mine in at the state park because I also need to by my permit.
What rig are you fishing out of?

keep changing depths and looking for fish. one popular strategy
on the chain is to spend the day cruising and spot checking - then
finish the day with a burger and a bunch of beers and make up
stories about the walleyes you caught - it is far easier to look
good that it is to be good on the chain - take the easy path

just kiddin around

Another popular approach is to drive around until you spot boats
taking walleyes - then move right in on that area. get as close as
you can to other boats as the fish school tightly in small batches

Hey JJanikas,
I believe we crossed paths in the channel between Marie and Channel.
You were heading south.
Anyway, we were only out for only a few hours. I mainly wanted to check out my boat and electronics as it was the first time that had it in the water. We did manage to fish for a while and came up with nothing. Tried Marie, Channel, and Bluff. Marked alot of fish in 10 to 15 feet. If they were walleye they were down that deep due to the sun and the idiot cutting up the water in his cigarette. Water temp was 47 degrees. I didn't see any one else put anything in their boat the entire time we were out. I hope that you had better success.

hey eyesnsox.I fished Sun. from 9:30-11:30.I wound up with 2 walleyes-15&18.Both were caught on Marie jiggin'.I thought I'd see if anything was happening with the crappies on channel.I spent about 20 minutes there and left--lots of boats on the north end.I'm leaving for erie Thurs.I'll be back on the chain in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the report.
