SUPERTROLLING of course! I just love it when a plan comes together and you can hit one after another.

You couldn't be more right SUPERTROLLER. I didn't know there was any other way to fish besides trolling:P And my favorite type of trolling would be shallow dirty water.

I prefer to find the fish and set up over them. To me it is more challenging (and enjoyable) than pulling lures all day long. I drove a charter boat in Lake Ontario for a few years and burned out on trolling. Anyone who casts or jigs Lake Erie and would like company sometime, please let me know. I even pay more than my share, gas too :)
never found walleye water where they wouldn't eat a spinner rig.

I agree with the eyedoctor, trolling is not my cup of tea. As soon as the rod leaves your hand I feel the fishing experience has been diminished. "Ouch", I can feel myself being drug over the hot coals now. Just my opinion guys...not trying to pick a fight.
I enjoy jigging and casting of all types. Just seems a little more personal with miss piggy. I want to be on the other end when they come up for a look see.

Steve, I invite you to try Lake Macatawa in Holland, Mi. I can catch'em on just about anything BUT a spinner in this Drowned rivermouth muddy lake. Sounds like a perfect spot for oversized spinner blades, but they just don't like it or can't find it no matter what size we've tried. Even catch a lot less Sheephead when we've tried spinners and they'll nail anything! I'd love a lesson if you're ever in town.
thanks for the invite! if the path leads that way and time permits, i'll be in touch. i welcome the challenge...

I enjoy the hand to hand combat of handlinning the detroit river.
come on spring !

I'd troll, but I really enjoy working shorelines casting jigs or plugs, or lindy rigging -- something very purist about rigging :)
My spring/summer/fall is probably about 40% trolling, 40% rigging/spinner fishing, and 20% casting or slip bobbering.
Me and vertical jigging don't get along, even though I grew up fishing a river, I seem to have lost that talent ;)

I love to troll but there is nothing better the catching big fish on a jig. Fish vs man!

Hey Bob. Enjoyed my first DWF meeting. I have never handlined, but a friend gave me an A&S reel a whie back. It needs a little work, I started a new job recently and a fellow there is a handliner from way back. He is going to show me the ropes. Hope to meet you at the next meeting.

Drifting with bouncers would pull a close 2nd.
Favorite method of trolling is open water with planer boards... Nothing like one of those Erie hogs making an Offshore board look like a bobber to get the blood pumping!

I'd have to say rigging is probably my favorite method, with trolling a close 2nd as far as how I spend the majority of my time. It's just a little more personal rigging, but trolling has put many a fish in my boat & deserves equal time.

Being one of the lucky ones that gets to fish Lake Erie regularly, I have to vote for trolling 'cause thats what really brings the hogs in.
One of my goals this year though is to learn to locate and catch saugeyes by jigging for them at some inland lakes in Ohio.
