Has anyone used the Vexilar EDGE LC-507 fishfinder? From the info I've found on the Vexilar website, it seems like this unit is packed with features. I'm curious about opinions on the quality of the unit and ease of use.

Thanks.

I love my Edge!. Truly 2 finder in one. Real easy to use with all of the important functions on the face of the unit.

Read the owners manual available on the site, lot of good info. Let me know if you have questions.

I used the LC 507 for the first time all last season. It is the simplest unit to run with all the key function buttons right on the front. It was very sensitive and gave true readings. I will actually take my FL8 off for the first time this year because I have total confidence in the unit. The split screen dual transducer is a great feature and easy to use.I use the wide angle to track the weed line or break which gives you a quicker warning of the change so you can stay close to the weed line and not in them or on top of the break.

Walleyeman -- Do a search on Vexilar Edge in the archives, or just Edge. You should get enough info to make a decision.

I bought one in the fall. I never thought I'd find a unit easier to use than my Garmin 240, however the Edge is in fact easier, and loaded with USEFUL features. I really like it. I can't compare its fish finding/bottom reading capacity to the higher end Lowrance units because I haven't used them, but I can say I have found it to perform with excellence. From my playing with the other units in the store, it is definitely a quantum leap ahead in ease of using features, and I know when I'm on the water I really don't like to take too much time going through complicated menus. A great unit. Good luck.

Tony--Got my Edge at Gander for a song, although they didn't have one in the local store. Had to ship it in from another store. Reeds had them also last time I looked. You can check the Vexilar site (www.vexilar.com) for dealers, or to order direct. They sell reconditioned units for a good price, with full warranty, and their customer service seems good. I wouldn't be afraid to get a reconditioned one.

The Edge is a pretty low profile unit. You don't see them in a lot of stores, and Vexilar doesn't really advertise them. That may change now that Al Lindner is using the unit on his new show.

I went on the Vexilar website and the reconditioned units are selling for $499. How does that compare with what you paid for a new one?

$499 is a great price. I paid $699.

I will second their customer service. I am working with them on my FL18. It is nobodys fault but they have responded immediately and I am confident we will work out my situation.
Some of the best response I have ever gotten on a product. By the way, my fl18 was a rebuilt, no problem
