I've been trolling at night for a couple of weeks now and Husky Jerks and shallow reefrunners have been the best for me. Huskys I use are blue on top, orange bottom, silver sides, seems to work best. Blue/silver and green/white Reefrunners. Flatlines 125" back+, also planerboards. 1-1.5 mph. I also cast the Husky Jerks while I troll with equal success. Hope this helps, Good Luck

Duckman,
are you fishing on Erie at night? I am going out on Sunday either on west end or else by the islands.....depending on the weather and what seems to be hot. If you have been on erie when was the last time you were out?
thx

I've been out a couple times in the last week. Catching 1- 5 per night, usually 2. It hasen't been great but better than nothing. All big fish 5# + Have been trolling East breakwall off Cleveland. Good Luck

I fish in Wisconsin the same way as Duckman discribes above, works great for me. My best bait by far has been original black/silver #11 countdown Rapalas, how they can see a black lure at nite in 25 feet of water is beyond me, but it's been are best producer. Good Luck

Thx guys....I usually do my night trips in the fall....I have a 13 pounder hangin on the wall from last year...my favorite night crank is the husky jerk in black/gold....I usually hang them off lighted inlines. I am trying to get out on erie as soon as the wind slows down a little bit.

Best lure that I have found is blue and chrome ripstick. Next is blue and chrome shadrap #7. Next is orange and gold F18 rapala. Last two trips out the ripstick outdid the shadrap 5 to 1. I think the rattle has something to do with it but have found a walleye willing to discuss the issue after I pulled the treble hook out of his jaw.

Good luck.

statement should have been - I have "not" found a walleye willing to discuss issue. Minor mistake

Capt. use the same tactics now that you use in the fall. i use the ripsticks as well as the husky jerks and the rogues. i use the erie descent, firetiger, perch, and chrome/ blue in the ripsticks, and the blue/chrome/orange belly and the clown in both the husky jerk, and the rogues, these lures and colors have given me very good success in many limit trips, both the spring and the fall. good luck and good fishin.
