Comments on this series of books? Are they worth the money or has the info already been printed in the magazines? Thanks.

I have the books and would make two observations. 1). In my opinion they don't have a substantial amount more important information in 1000+ pages than the Walleye Wisdom Book did in 266 pages - yes, there's some, but it seemed to me like there was a lot of superfulous fluff 2). I thought the earlier books in the Critical Concepts series were better than the later books. Maybe it was the subject matter, or possibly because Al Lindner was gone when the later ones came out. Just my .02.

I went to the library and took them out by inter-library loan. Costs nothing. Read them all cover to cover. They were very good, but I probably wouldn't buy them.

I got the set for Christmas, good reading, good info, glad I have them. But probably wouldn't order them just for myself.

Completely dependent on your level of expertise. I bought them about 3-4 years ago when I was really getting the fishing bug and I'm glad I did. For a relative newcomer with some experience, who always relied on the same old tricks to catch a few fish, I really got up to speed on what was going on below the surface. The first two in the series are great references, the latter are interesting but not as essential.

I would buy again - i still go back to brush up on finer points. Mind you I'm an amateur through and through, and only fish May to September in Canada.

Great toilet reading.

In my opinion,a very good set of book's.Full of info,bottom bouncer stats/also length of snell,with them and what your bait does.Steve Fellegy's 8 to 1 ratio.Fluttering..moving along,in a active fish situation.Taking the boat out of gear,to flutter the spinner on the bouncer,or 3-way rig.Triggers fish,I'm sure.Never tried it,but this weekend,I will.Live bait rig info,along with 3-way stuff,I thought was great.Nice to pick up stuff,I never tried.I must say,they did another good set of book's.I only found 2 of them.3+4.Boat has gas...car too...Northern Pa...here I come.

I found them very useful, but I don't claim to be an expert in any way. I learned a lot from them. 1-4 were probably more useful that 5 which I got recently. Now that I'm through them once, I keep 'em handy in the "reading room" for refreshers.
