Is there a place on line that anyone knows of that has a decent map of Lake Of The Woods that you can get a general idea of the area. Im just wanting to see a general look of the lake area and islands to try and pinpoint an area to go to on the Minnesota side. Have never been and will be going up the end of May and dont want to be in the big water area of the lake. Thanks for any help!

Very cool!! Its limited to how much money I can send them, or maybe Im not doing it right. Im trying to find a loge that is in a whole mess of islands on the Minnesota side and possibly close to reef fishing. I dont know the area or the lake at all and dont even know where to start.

Thanks for the info!

99% of the islands are in Canada. On the US side you are limited to three choices basically, Warroad, Baudette and the NW angle. At the angle, you are in the island country but most of your fishing would be in Canada.

Sorry might be right, I dont know the area.

I never send them money, just click through the ads. You dont have to pay unless you want to buy a map or something.

If you want the beautiful island scenery LOTW is famous for, and want to stay in the US, the angle is really your only option. There are a handful of islands and some of the good walleye fishing assiciated with them in the US side of the Angle, but much of the good walleye fishing, and virtually all the good smallmouth and muskie fishing is in Canada. Many people go from the angle and fish down around Garden Island and some go over towards Flag and Oak islands. It's a long trip each day if you don't stay at an island resort, and you won't find gas for less than $2.00 a gallon up there this summer and it might be more like $2.50.

I try to get up there a time or two a summer, but didn't last summer. Hoping to get there in July this year. I love the area and you will fall in love with it too. Here's a link that will help you a lot.
