I am heading up to Mille Lacs this weekend and it looks like showers for the opener. Any suggestions for catching rain walleyes? I will be fishing out of the south shore by Isle.

Well, a couple of theories come to mind.

Lots of rain - mean rivers and creeks flowing into lakes - this might be a possible warmer water and feeding opertunity for baitfish = bigger fish snacking?

Rain usually means over cast days + Wind might bring walleyes in the shallow's on wind beaten rocks or shore?

Darker days - brighter lures?
Maybe the secret "black" spinner for contrast?

Watch the water temp - and try differnt presentations...

Good luck!

The walleyes won't care if it's raining (they're already wet) but you will. Wear good rain gear so you won't have to come in due to being cold and wet.

Lots of times dark, rainy days will find eyes up shallow, especially in the spring. So don't be afraid to fish that skinny water. It could be the ticket....or not! ;)

Sodak you must be from South Dakota. Whereabouts? I am originally from there.
