My Kansas fishing buddies want to meet me at Seminoe or Pathfinder mid June for camping-Walleye/Crappie fishing. Need info on campgrounds, road conditions, lake access (for boat launch), ramps, lake maps, what weather is going to be like mid June? I'm pretty sure there are Eyes but how about Crappie-Bass? Are these good fishing lakes and what is recommemed baits for Walleye?
Thanks

Mid-June may be a little early for the best bite. Mid-July would be better. Seminoe State Park is located about 35 miles north of Sinclair, Wyoming (via 2-lane, mostly paved road). Some camping is available at the Seminoe Boat Club, about 28 miles north of Sinclair (2-lane, all paved). Both locations have boat ramps. Boat Club has gas. You won't find bass or crappie, but good walleye and trout fishing. Without good snow this spring, the water level is expected to be low this year. Jigging, crawler harnesses, and cranks are the most popular techniques. If you try in June, minnows might out-perform crawlers. Remember that bait fish must be purchased locally, and the walleye limit (daily and possession) is reduced to six (6) in 2002, down from twenty (yes, 20), in 2001.
Good luck,
Tinman

I've also heard that you have to be very careful and watch for unmarked underwater hazards. Is this going to be worse with lower water levels?

You can get a map of Seminoe from the Fish-n-Map Company: http://www.fishnmap.com/
I always stay at the State Park campgrounds, Red Hills North. Like tinman says, the walleye bite is usually better after mid July, it seems to get better late summer.

Seminole takes longer to warm than Pathfinder because of the cold runoff it recieves. Fish Pathfinder in late may and June, then switch to Seminole in July. If you fish Pathfinder in the spring concentrate on the canyon section below the Miracle Mile. Fish shady rock slides and any sand points you find around the inlet area. Expect to catch some big trout also!!!

wally, go to this site.... miraclemileranch.com
has full hook ups for camping and rent cabins,
do your self a favor and fish the river for a day.(miracl3 mile)which according to a trail marker with low water is actually 5-7 miles.
about 25 miles or 1 hour to pathfinder from the bridge and probably 1/2 hour to seminole from the bridge also.snake river cutthroats are on the spawn in june at the miracle mile.
in casper you can get the certified minnows to fish these waters.
