The best for the dollar nowdays seems to be the fishmark 320 by eagle. 199.99 dollars, I saw it at mills fleat farm for 189.99 once.

1500 watts of power and 320 vertical pixils. www.reedssports.com has it for 199.99 and free shipping I think, plus no sales tax then, unless you live in MN.

I have no personally oberved this, but everyone says that the speed on sonars that work with a paddlewheel are very very inacurate and not worth the money. They would suggest waiting to see your speed until you get a gps.

I'm a fan of the Garmin stuff in that price range. If you want to spen round $2k, there is nothing better than a Genetron. ;)

They have all the features you mention.

Give Matt Thompson at Thorne Bros a call, he can help get you in the right direction for your needs and price range.

They have very competetive prices with all the bigs.

Good luck

Do check out the Matrix line by Hummingbird,..it surprized me with the price and features. Also they claim that its upgradeable via your computer.

do not pass up the chance to look at the eagle fisheasy models, around 150.00 and for that not a bad unit at all.
