There's been a lot of discussion on the board lately, and in our chat on Wednesday, about digital mapping. A lot has changed already and it's all for the good! I just want to make all of you aware of the following:

Garmin now offers the Fishing Hot Spots MapSource information on pre-programmed datacards, with NO UNLOCK REQUIRED! These will work in the eMap, GPSMAP 176, 182, 188, 232, 238, 2006 and 2010. This was a big issue earlier since the computer was involved in getting the data to the unit.

Again a reminder, this product, like the Navionics HotMaps, are NOT Fishing Hot Spots products. While we can answer some pretty basic questions about them, I urge you to contact either Garmin or Navionics with specifics.

As an FYI, I'll be out of the office until the 18th. If any info is needed you can email me directly through the WC, thanks!

Mike,
Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to seeing the additional detail for Lake Erie for my 2010. Good move on Garmin's part to make it available on a preprogrammed card - no computer interface required. Plug it in and go fishing.
