Since I made my ski's, and am using rubber bands, a thought occured to me.Does the stretch effect of the rubber band do anything to the action of the lure being used.I noticed that while flat lining a similar lur and one on the ski, that there wasn't as much vibration from the rubber band set up.Any thoughts on this??

The rubber band is acting like a shock absorbing. The lure action would be the same if your running the same line. The tip action is different.

I agree with ETT. I run big boards a lot. I don't think the lure action is effected when using a rubber band. If you have a light tip on you rod you can still see the lure action almost as pronounced as long lining.
Further thought. I use small clips on shower hooks. Clip the rubber band so that one strand is stretched and pulling the lure. The other strand should have a slight belly in it. If you pick up a small fish or a weed it is very easy to detect with the eye. I found this much more sensitive than tattle tale flags on in-line boards.
