I am going on a family vacation fishing the Vermillion River. First time fishing this river and I sure could use some tips or recommendations for finding and catching fish of all types. Seems like when you try new waters you find the fish the last day of the vacation. Any help would be greatly appreciated so that the kids have a good time on the water. Thanks for any help!

Have a great vacation! To get the most out of your time hire a local guide for a 1/2 or full day trip your first day there. This will help you get more out of the rest of your week, perhaps learn a bit about local history, nature, etc and, if the guide is willing, maybe even get a few spots marked on your map for further exploration.
We started doing this a few years ago; worth every dollar and more in terms of maximizing your week's value.
