All right we are less than two weeks out, lets get a head count. Please post if you are coming and how many will be with you. Also if anyone needs a ride or a boat partner now is the time to let me know?

The pavilion is reserved and several people will be getting up there early on Thursday to stake our claim also. Next week we will post a list of what everyone is bringing for the fish fry on Saturday night.

Howdy. There will be 3 of us plus my daughter. Will bring deep frier, oil and batter as well as some appetizers and some kind of side dishes. Will be getting in Thursday night. Looking forward to it. It'll be a hoot.

I'll be there either late Wednesday night or early Thursday am. Will have 2 additional bodies with me. They will be in the 5th wheel and fishing with me. I have a fryer and will help with the cooking. Has anyone fished Glendo recently? Is the trolling bite on? Or should I bring a jigging rod?

Everything I have read lately is that the bite was slow? They were all jigging and bouncing, so hopefully our late August trolling bite awaits us?

Jason and I are still deciding on whether or not we're will be going. I guess if we go, we'll be there Wednesday night. I guess if we go, we'll be down in the corner again, same place as last year. I guess if we go , we'll be in Jason's new Princecraft, trolling. I guess if we go, I'm going to have to pass on cooking the o-rings again, but I will be more than happy to bring something. I guess if I'm there, and anybody is insterested in the bragging rights fish off, contact me or Mexico Thursday and / or Friday night. I guess if we go . . .

Neal, I'm not sure if either one will response, but my Father and "Brack" will be there this year, so go ahead and add them to the list.

See you all in two weeks!

First I don't know if I will be attending. (It would be my first) Still trying to talk the wife into it. She likes to waterski in the afternoon and I told that weekend was for fishing only and she wasn't sure if she wanted to sit on shore all day.

I was up there this past weekend and fished Sat and Sun morning from 7-12. I trolled all over the lake and through everthing I had in crank baits at them with multiple depths and techniques and caught 1 smaller eye near Goose Island. I seen allot of people trolling on Sat but it looked like they switched on Sunday and went back to fishing the shore line. I only seen 2 other fish netted the entire weekend.

Bennett hill ramp is/will be unsable in 2 weeks.
Wiskey low ramp was being used and should be usable in 2 weeks. I talked with the DOW they said they have slowed the outlet way down 6-8 inches of drop a day and is scheduled to decrease even more.
Good luck.

Neal,

Since Wheels and Bighorn can't make up their mind, I guess we'll have to take up the slack with biggest and most fish. LOL

Anyway, I'm coming with Jeff Alexander, picking him up at the ABQ airport Thursday morning and we should hit Glendo hopefully in time to pre-fish for the braggin rights.

Jeff's dad Ron will also be coming and meeting us there. As of now, we are planning on tenting it with the Sub as an extra spot for Jeff's dad if need be. If anyone has any extra room, let me know. Wheels and Bighorn are bringing up one 5th wheel, I didn't feel like making them bring a second just for the 3 of us, but if someone has room ... ;)

My boat is full, but I might be up for some trading if these guys get the itch to jig and think trolling is for the birds (they already think that LOL) . It isn't that far a swim to shore for them and I would be more than happy to pick up anyone that would like to TROLL. ;)

This is going to be a blast.

I'll bring up something to pass around at the dinner (chips, salsa, or something else, maybe after we see the list). Also, I'll be bringing a cribbage board and some poker chips. Those who want to play, bring change (nickel, dime, quarter type stuff NO BIG STUFF) we'll have the chips for those who don't have a pile of change at home.

WHERE ARE ALL THE TX PEOPLE from the TWA, the drive from Fritch to Glendo is not bad at all.

With the exception of Fishinguide, I have always wondered where the Nebraska guys are also? Haven't seen a post from Eyeboy in a long time also?

It's that time of year allready!? Time flies when your havin fun! I finally graduated from school and passed my nursing boards. Now she that rules the roost made me go to work for a livin. No sense of humor. :P
With heavy heart I must say that I will not be able to make the trip this year, gotta work. Go Figure. So Gent's and possibly some Ladies slay the Eye's and have a safe fun time.

I'm not sure he can make it, if the jig fish won't be there!!!!

Promise, I'll remember we are on an open channel this year, REALLY!

You have to come!

The Mule,Mrs.Mule, and the little Mules will all be in attendance. We will bring the fryer,Salads, libations and Matzuo crankbaits so everyone can catch a Walleye. You trollers might be in for a long boat ride this year. By the way I trolled cranks in every PWT tourney this year so I'm not sure where I got this jigging reputation from. See you guys Thursday night.

Just wanted to make sure you were awake!!!

Glad to hear you and the family will be there.

BTW, what is a Matzuo?? Just kidding, I'll pull some around if you need to see if they work!! LOL ;)

I better get some coffee and calm down. Is it time to leave yet!

Did you sell your rig??

Muleskinner
08-13-2003, 09:48 AM
A few bites on the boat but no $$$ yet. If you know anyone looking send them my way this rig is in A-1 shape and has been taken care of by the guys at the lund trailer at every tournament this year. Its unbeleivable what a case of miller lite can get you from the lund guys.

Make sure your near a ford dealer if the Sub dies again so you can get into a new ford to pull that nice lund boat you have. LOL. Hope you have a safe and trouble free trip up to Gods country.

Glad you're gonna make it! Glad you'll have the mozzarella sticks with ya too.

By any chance you wanna trade two more rod holders for tubes?

See ya there!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this year. Brian, you'll have to find someone else to catch/ er.. clean your fish. :)

Have fun folks!

John

P.S. Why did I run into this thread on "strictly fishing"? To be fair, I was so behind in my WC reading that I skipped most of "general".

pwrfshn
08-14-2003, 11:12 AM
I would have gladly cleaned the fish if you could have fixed my Sub. ;) No I haven't forgotten that you went above the call and got it started where some would have come and told me it didn't start while blankly staring at me in my boat.

Sorry to hear you won't be coming, I was hoping I would see that new rig of yours!

We'll be there friday about noonish. Everyone still camping at Whiskey Gulch? Looks like the ramp at Whiskey will be in the water too.

I'm trying to get ahold of Fishngyde (Kerry) to see if he is going or if he sold his boat. If I hear from him and he says the bite is hot at Big Mac or they are getting into stripers, we may go there instead. We'll keep you posted.

Hotter at Big Mac than Glendo, now thats funny!

Just kidding, I always like to use fishing reports as counter signals to what will be happening in the future.

Hopefully you can make it, who else will be there to make sure the rest of us stay in line.

Eric; I frished Big Mac last weekend and it was real slow. We trolled for 16 hours for suspended fish and only caught 2 eyes(1-15" & 1-25") and 5 wipers around 2 lbs.

At least I know there will be a good rep. from Texas coming with Brian. If he comes back and starts trolling all the time I am going to be very dissappointed!:)

Steve/CO if you see this post, let me know when you will be arriving?

I will start a list post tonight on what everyone is bringing for the fish fry on Saturday night. I still have a bunch of plates and plastic spoons and forks and a giant can of baked beans left over from last year, so know one needs to bring those items.

Was off trout fishing in the mountains and got back last night. Still plan on coming up on Thursday evening. How about I bring some dessert, like brownies? Or do yopu need something else? I'll be happy to do some cooking, as well, but don't have the gear myself. I have a supply of ripshads that I want to try (and a couple of Matzuos). The ripshads were the killer on our trip to NW Ontario. Outfished everything else including shad raps. We'll see if they can match Neal's Lightening Shad from last year. See you all Thursday/Friday.
Steve

And good friends DO fish for trout; it's fun! I just don't eat 'em.

As Wheels stated above I will be there thursday night and am fishing
with his dad, who by the way really catches all the fish when they are fishing a tourny together.
Not sure what to bring to the fish fry, probably a dessert?

We used perch and flame colored ripshads in Ontario - both worked. I assume your comment about "what is a ripshad" is facetious considering the play they have gotten on WC this year. I picked up some firetiger, grey ghost and chrome-blue to fill out my selection. We'll see if the Glendo eyes like 'em.
