All three!
Trolling this time of year will be primarily with crawler harnesses but cranks still work especially at night on the reefs. Most use very big blades on crawlers, 5 and up.
Check out the fishing report page here at WC, there's a good report there on BDN that explains what's happening. All techniques work up there but I'd say that most tournament fisherpeople troll with boards. If I remember correctly, Gary Gray won two major tourneys up there jigging with jigs and spoons. It's a very clear water environment so plan accordingly.
Dennis, a buddy and I are looking for a new fishing area for a early October trip. What can you tell me about the fishing this time of the year and what could we expect for numbers and size?
