What are gulp worms and where do you buy them.

Actually, they are a new bait product from Berkley who tells us that they are biodegradable. This brings up all kinds of questions ie:
Do they start breaking down on contact with water and if they do,should you put them back in the bag with the other ones? I wouldn't think so or the other ones in the bag would start breaking down.Anyway, if you want to try them, I saw them in the Bass Pro online catalog......

Yes they do start breaking down as soon as they hit water. This is so that the scent disperses quicker. I have had a 2" Gulp grub in a glass of water since the beginning of June and it is still intact although it's starting to look rather porus. Berkley recomends that you do not put used ones back in the package although I would think if you dried the off with a towel they would be fine.

Just got some last night (minnow grub) to try this weekend, I'll give some feedback on our results.
We are trying the Watermelon Minnow Grub.
The package does state not to return the used one and mix them in with the others.

I've been using the GULP! Turtleback worms for bass. Caught a two pound bass on the GULP! that wasn't hooked, it just hung onto the worm. They really hold onto these baits.
Don't put a used GULP! worm back into the bag, and make sure the bag is sealed completely.
I was told the worms biodegrade in about 90 days.

I've been using gulp with good success. If you leave them out in the air too long, they do dry out. I left one on a rod in my garage for a couple of days and it was as tough as leather and hard to remove from the hook. On the water it isn't really a problem as they are either being used or (if on a rod not being used much) I dip them in the water occassionally. I also once left a bag opened in my storage hatch on my boat. The next day, they were still fine. With the hatch closed they must not have had enough air to dry out.
I've heard that the reason they say not to put them back in the pack is that the once used they could have picked up mold from the lake, and then transfer it back into the pack. Don't know if it is true, but that's the rumor I've heard. I have been using a plain ziplock bag to put any "used" baits in to save for further use without any problems. Interestingly, different colors do not "bleed" into each other in my "used" bag either.
