Anyone ever tried the candy worms in place of plastic ,or would it not hold up long enough once it hits the water.I do not use much plastic but I might give it a try once I know the bite is on ,with the regular plastic. spamoose

The kid did it off of the dock once and bluegills and perch would nibblea t them. Can't say that she ever caught anything but it could happen. one of those fish with the black line down their side, the name leaves me at this moment, would probably be dumb enough to eat one. Maybe even a walleye on a crawler harness or something.
let us know how it goes. Maybe I'll have to buy some stock in black forest.

Yes, they do work for walleyes. I've tipped jigs many times with them. Also behind spinner rigs. I think I can honestly say it's the only bait I've ever eaten.

I have never used them for bait, but I used to leave some in my tackle box, usually when I was taking someone new fishing. I'd make a big deal out of using plastics and such and then would eat one. I'd get some pretty shocked looks. It reminds of a story an elk guide in Wyoming told me they would do to the "dudes" they were guiding. They would get them drunk the night before and while they were sleeping, would go out and dump a jar of black olives in the snow. The next morning they would check how fresh the elk "droppings" were by eating them. LOL The hungover queasy guys would lose it half the time.
Sorry for the rambling. The post brought back some memories.

Fish with black line down the side? Are you referring to a stump sucking, weed carp :)?
