hoping that someone out there can help me. in the late 60s and early 70s i used a jointed crankbait called a sparkle-tail. this lure was manufactured by hubbard lures in indiana. i took alot of fish with it during those years. does anyone know if they are still produced? also, where they may be purchased? i thought that i heard that lurh-jensen or eppinger were marketing them for awhile. thanks alot.

You can find the Sparkletail at www.Dardevle.com. We use them
on Lake Winnebago and they are available at some Fleet & Farm
stores here in Wisconsin. If you can't get Sparkletails get
some Jointed Shad Raps. I have had excellent results with them.

Bass Pro had them on their web site as of about 6 months ago (they're made by Eppinger). The problem was the color codes were all messed up, so I couldn't really tell if I'd get the colors I wanted.

Hi Guyz,

I know this is kinda an old post but, I thought someone might find these interesting. I ran across some Sparkle Tail look-alikes out of China. I just registered here and I don't know if it's considered kosher to post links... So, I'll do it this way, since a link could become obsolete at any time...
www(dot)ebay(dot)com/itm/Jointed-Swimbait-Vibration-Fishing-Lure-Tackle-Hook-Crankbait-5PCS-80mm-20g-/270880347095?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f11ba 13d
They have two colors in these lures. Green holo and purple holo.
It can take over a month to receive items from China.
Also, be advised that alot of lures from china are made of clear ABS plastic. You don't want to leave them laying in the hot sun. They will melt if they get too hot.
There is basically no way of knowing what type of plastic any given lure from China is made of. Also, you can't be sure of their action or if they run true.
I know, I know, why do you want to buy out of China? Well, most of the lures you see in the stores are marked Made In China. These are going for 5 for $4.99 and free shipping (currently 1/21/12)

If I was an avid user of Sparkle Tails, I sure would try some.
They could turn out to have an awesome action.

Cheers, Daryl
