As I said in the other post, I have a bunch of plastic plates, forks and spoons left over from last year. I also have a big 5 gallon can of baked beans that didn't get opened last year either, so please, no one bring baked beans. I will also bring some kind of side dish.
Lets hope the fish cooperate also?

Neal, just wondering, do you have a back up plan for the main dish just in case the fish don't cooperate?
I was going to back out this year, but have changed my mind. I'll fix onion rings again.

Neal,
I'll bring whatever we don't have by Wednesday that we need. (Wheels is making me look bad!)
If everyone's stories of gloom and doom are right about the fishing situation, I'll bring some Walleye from NM. ;) Cheer up, if I recall, last year I heard all sorts of stories about the bite, the ramps, the muddy water, and it seemed to turn out just fine.
ERICCO,
Bring your wallet!!

The gloom story last year was the water level. Fishing had rocked all month.
This year the water level is good, (down 6ft since Saturday) but the fishing has sucked all month.

I am going to bring some fish from home in order to feed our little group just in case. Maybe even an extra bag of fillets for others.

I'll do the same. Now that Amy is with child, we have our last limit left in the freezer and it should not go to waste (it wouldn't have anyway).
Don't have the heart to eat it in front of her.
Heck, I won't have to clean a fish at all then, the fish fry is looking up already.

I will catch enough eyes for my family and probably several others if I have to jump overboard and spear them. Now quit all the nay saying and sharpen your spears. Lets go walleye catching for the fish fry's sake!!!!!! LOL}( }( }(
By the way bringing the fryer and 2 dozen sweet corn. Whoever ended up with a lid to small for their pan last year and got mine I have yours.

I say those who don't bring a few fish to the table should take care of the fish cleaning. Don't forget your fillet knife Mexico.

I'm bringing filets SO I DON"T HAVE TO CLEAN ANYTHING.
It is win/win, fish more, clean nothing, and still have some fish to eat. Also, it means all those nice WY Walleye will go right back in the water (after a photo of course) !

I am all for catch and release usually, just not this weekend! Of course big fish should be let go! But everything else is fair game! Including Catfish and Crappie.

Does someone have a head count?

Every year we have people show up that I hadn't counted on and people not show that I had. I am sure this year will be no exception? I am guessing around 35 people this year? We set the date in January each year so everyone has plenty of time to plan!
The first get-together four years ago was just me, Dave Kooser, Art & Terry Kelm, Dennis Kraus and Ron. The weather sucked! The fishing Sucked! And we still had fun! And we will have fun this year! Who knows we might even catch a fish or two?

Hi everybody,
Even though I'm a newbie for the Western Get Together and only know a few people via email exchanges, I was still looking forward to going. Unfortunately, on Friday last week while I was vacationing in Minnesota my main motor left me stranded two miles off shore and I had to bring it in to the dealer for service yesterday. They are looking at it as I write so at this point it looks like I won't be able to make it up to Glendo this year...
I hope it is a great trip for everyone and that the weather and fishing conditions cooperate!
Regards,
pwrfshn

Mike,
Sorry to hear that.
If you can make it, EVEN WITHOUT A BOAT, we'll find a place for you.
Hope to see you there,

My boat's in good shape which is the important thing, but I blew a water line on my camper. Naturally, in the one place that I can't get to without major structural modification. I'll live on bottled water for the weekend, I guess. Just Neal and me in my boat, so we have room for a third, Mike. Don't let the boat be a deterrent.

As I mentioned in the Boats and Motors thread, it looks like my boat will be in the shop for about a week while they wait for a new gearcase to be shipped. The work will be covered under warranty which is a good thing...
So thanks for the offer for a ride -- I'll plan to make it after all. I will be able to leave mid-afternoon on Friday, what can I bring?
Looking forward to it!
