View Full Version : Aluminum Oxide Eyes
I just bought a Shimano Clarus rod and it said on the tag that it has "new concept eyes" by Fuji. I look it up online and the rod's new concept eyes are actually Aluminum oxide eyes. Now, I've been using rods with titanium eyes for years now, and have no idea if the A.O. eyes can handle the new braids and other super-lines. Will they last? What are your experiences?

No problems with mine that have been used with powerpro. Guides that cannot stand up to superlines are all but off the market. You will only find them in the very cheapest rods in the clearance racks that have not sold in five or ten years.
