Ladies and gentlemen,
I moved my X-45 to the bow this spring since I bought a new sonar/gps combination, had no problem with it till last week while on vacation at Lake of the Woods. The unit seems to operate but the depth is not being displayed or .5 feet is displayed, or some way out depth 697 feet is displayed. The transducer is installed on my trolling motor. I checked all the connections and transducer cable, there seems to be no problem there. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

I have the same problem, I went to Canada in the spring and went through customs, I believe when we drove through the x-ray area it screwed up me transducer, I have the same problem with depth readout and i no longer mark fish as arches, just lines. The other boat in our group also had the same problem. I talked with lowrance the said the x-ray machine would cause a problem.

The problem with that is that it was working fine for most of the trip and out of the blue it quit working for no apparent reason !

I think Lowrance is having a problem with all their products. I have an x-15 and x75 having problems with the two of them!!!

Do you guys have a transducer in the bow and and transducer mounted on the transom???? If so, you problem lies in the fact that both one unit is interfering with the other unit. If you are using the bow mount, shut the transom unit off and see what happens. It is that or your transducer is bad. I doubt very highly that your unit was affected by X-rays.

Bob said they were both working at one time, so unless one trandsucer got bumped and the cone angle changed position, I doubt if its interference.
Could be something as simple as a bad transducer. Or maybe the frequency setting got changed on the unit. I would check that first if you havent already.
Bob, does your transducer have the gray connector? If so, you can swing by my place one day. I have a few spare transducers. You are welcome to try one.

Brian I wish I would have heard from you earlier, I sent the unit to Seeman Electronics, they are going to check out the unit and let me know if it is ok. I also think that the transducer is bad, but did not want to buy a new transducer, and find out the unit was bad. I had used both units at the same time for almost 5 months without any problems. The unit/transducer is 6 years old, so if I have to replace the transducer I won't be too bent out of shape to spend $50.00. Brian how are you doing I haven't talked to you for awhile ? Have you been fishing ? I just got back from Lake of the Woods, might be trying to get out this week-end.
2 transducers will work in shallow water but when you get deeper such as 40 feet, it is then that the cones overlap and the signals interfer with each other
I went through this with having 2 lowrance units on my boat
1 transducer on transom and the other on the trolling motor

I have an X15 that was giving me fits. The problem has been resolved, but I did call Lowrance at one point and they thought it could have been transducer related. They shipped me a brand new one.

The bow mounted did not work in any depth 3' - 100', the unit is going on 6 years old so I would not be surprised if the tranducer crapped out or the unit went bad.

Yea, sorry I didnt see you post earlier. Hopfully its something minor.
I have been doing some fishing, went salmon fishing 2 weekends ago, it was slow, but we did manage a few fish.
