Just an FYI tidbit:

Just spooled my new Abu line counter with mono backing and loaded it right up 10 pound Fireline. I had set the counter for 95% capacity with 10 pound superline. The counter showed I put 380 feet of Fireline on. That's pretty close to dead on. The Fireline box says I had 125 yards of line which is 375 feet. I was impressed with the accuracy. Now if they could just do something about the dinky buttons and crummy backlighting on the unit...!

I agree Bobby. They line counter (I bought conversion kits) work pretty good. I have the same issues as you. I wish the buttons had a "click" feel to them. They are kind of hard to use. Also the battery on mine didnt make a whole season, so carry a spare in your tackle box.

If I had to to do all over again, I probably would have took the $40 and invested it in a Diawa LC instead, and left my Abus alone. I really miss the clicker, also, since my Abu's dont have one.

My Abu reel HAD a clicker. I had to rip it out to get the counter to fit on the reel!
