What is your favorite (and therefore most effective?) fall walleye rig?

There are likely several to match specific conditions, so list them all!

Currently I have been using a slip sinker, swivel, 4.5 ft. of leader material and a gamakatsu or VMC baitholder hook. Oh yes, and a good sized 3-4" chub minnow.

Actually, the typical jig and minnow combination is tough be beat for fall eyes. typically at this time of year, they are really slamming the bait.

Also, this is probably the most effective of the year for running crank baits. You will probably - overall - catch more and bigger fish, by running the correct crank baits at the correct depth; than any other method at this time of the year.

Take care

Because of the special regs on Mille Lacs, I'm still doing the slip bobber and leech thing. I'm getting slots, but not as many of the big fish. I guess it all depends on which fish you want to target. If I wanted to catch big fish, and probably more numbers, I'd be pulling cranks at night, and jigging large minnows (chubs) during the day, but alot deeper.

My favorite fall presentations are vertical jigging with lead heads, jigging spoons, or blade baits in rivers.

But..if that doesn't work..out come the cranks.
I love rivers in fall.

I have to agree with T-Mac. BB's all the way unless I'm feeling a little lazy. Then it's Hot Lips all the way.
