Hi,
I am ready to upgrade my Fishfinder. What do you think is the best for Lake Erie(western¢ral basin).I do not need a Fishfinder&Gps combo.I want something that shows Perch on the bottom.
May I be fishing somewhere Tomorrow

Best "bottem reading" unit I've used is the Genetron GT 9. I especially like this unit for open water as it reads fish at quite high speeds which becomes even more important on big "open water" fisheries such as Erie. Compared to the "best" of the rest, it isn't much more expensive. In MY opinion...nothing beats this unit in the open water, reading fish tight on the bottem, of any size, or hugging the upper ten ft. of the water, at fairly high speed....with great resolution as well.
They do not have a web page. The ONLY contact is by phone or email.

Your budget is really the determining factor of the level of electronics you'll be able to afford. I like my Pinpoint 7520's but if I could be a high roller I'd have a Lowrance LCX 104C on the console. I like the Genetrons too. But I've been kinda taken back by the Lowrance LCX104C...

my LMS 240 is working real good since I got it back from lowrance
but this spring I am going to up grade to lcx15 mt

The Lowrance 104C sure does take up some serious real estate but I’m positive that I could find a space for it on my new Skeeter.
