Hi Rick,

You sent me an email with some questions, but the return address says scott@walleyecentral.com , so what I need from you is your email address. If I hit reply, Scott Golden is going to get my response...lol

You can email me at juls@walleyecentral.com with your addy.

Thanks!
By the way, I forwarded your questions on to an expert on that subject, and will get his reply if he feels like helping out. Fortunately I know when to keep my big mouth shut and let someone else do the talking...sometimes anyway! ;-)

Have a great day. We'll get you the answers you're looking for.

Juls

hello rick!

i'm flattered to say, i got an e-mail from juls asking to respond to your trolling motor concerns. so here is my 2 cents worth per your questions...
1. minkota ap 65 or 74 maxxum?: i would always, personally, recommend the maxxum over the pd. the river fishing you refer to ,needs optimum response control from the bowmount. the pd is not optimum in that department. wind, current and precise control on structure merit optimum response from the bowmount.
the pd is great for not so presise open water type fishing however, where immediate response is not as critical.
2. justify a kicker?: when talking forward trolling with crankbaits, most likely your ii5 mercury fourstroke will be just fine. however, the eight horse kicker would be nice to have for spinner fishing or extreme calm conditions for crankbait trolling. put the kicker on if you can afford it. yammi next to a merc? lol black goes better with black!lol good luck! okay juls?lol #49
