After reading a few posts about delayed magazines and things ordered by mail, Do you think the mail in your area has slowed down since Sept? It certainly does seem that in this neck of the woods. I get a lot of mail and I look at the postmarks and its taking 4-5 days for me to get mail from my other office 95 miles away. Maybe its just a local thing but I've run into people that have had their credit card rate jump way up because the issuer says they got the payment late and the person feels that they sent it well in advance. Hows your mail?

It seems that every coupon I receive in the mail these days is expired by the time I get it.... On the bright side I am spending as much these days.....

if you only knew the truth. the postal service is going down the tubes rapidly. In my opinion, within 2 years there will be no government sponsored delivery of mail. All well and good some might say, and there is certainly no shortage of companies that would like to get their hands on a slice of the profitable city delivery of first class mail. But no companies express any interest in delivering a letter for 35 cents to grandma who lives 10 miles east of bemidji. The postal service actually has been quite shaken by the events of sept 11, and the way the mail is handled in the east coast regions has had to be re-invented, but the demise of the post office has been coming for a long while, due to mismangement and the always growing glut of top level idiots who are constantly tring to change everything. I have been a letter carrier for 18 years and i am like a lot of my associates in that we have always taken pride and gone to extra efforts in any conditions to make sure that all the mail that WE get gets to you. Late advertising mail is just another inept attempt by the postal service managers to save a few cents by ordering carriers who might go a few minutes overtime to leave 4th class mail for the next day or later. I work in an office with about 40 workers. I have 3 and sometimes 4 supervisors. How may bosses do you have? Thank God for my obssessive compulsive disorder which requires me to fish twice a week or i would go postal lol
The myth of management is that it exists in the first place, i.e. Everything that can be changed will be changed until there is no time left to change the changes.
As was stated above, i send a lot of packages all over the place, if you send ups, something costs $10.00, fed-ex-$7.55, and us mail-$5,00, it gets there one day later than it would ups, and costs half as much. i am for keeping the cost down to earth, but dodo happens, they can have a raise as far as i am concerned. on a lot of that mail that you look at(the adds) also check the date that they were sent. i have received a few adds from magazines late, then i looked at the sent date, and it was already late when it was sent. just my opinion.
