1)Does anyone know for sure if the Depthmaster Gold and the Convector are the same reels?
2)What is the warranty on the Cabelas Depthmaster reels? I have seen posting where people say that Cabelas exchanged their Depthmaster reel no problem. But when I asked Cabelas, they said the reel has a 1 year warranty. But then another guy at Cabales told me they just say satifaction guaranteed on all Cabala products and don't really state a limited warranty. If that is the case, it would be far better to get a Cabales Depthmaster Gold than a Okuma Convector if they are the same reel.
I think I want to stay away from the Depthmaster 2 reels when they talk about the Gold having machine brass gears. What would the Depthmaster 2 have, plastic gears?
