I'm thinking of putting a second finder in the bow. I have a X-85 on the dash of the big boat and a Eagle Ultra in my little river boat. I know that they're interchangable, but just wondered if I can run them both off the same transducer? Anyone know? Thanks & Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

I looked into this and the answer was no in my case. I wanted to do the same thing with a LMS 350A and a X70A. The problem is both units send signals to the transducer, and would get confused. The transducer would be trying to send sound waves from both units to the lake bottom. I hope this makes sense. What you (and I) were thinking about was one unit could act as a "dumb" unit, just recieving signals like a TV. Sorry to say, it doesnt work that way.

Sluggo- To Clarify

1. You can run two sonar units off a single transducer with a switch box from Lowrance.

2. You can NOT run both units at the same time.

Sluggo-

You can use one transducer for two sonars. As Jim stated, you will not be able to operate both sonars at the same time, however. The X-85 uses a black connector and the Ultra uses a grey connector. To use the X-85 transducer for both sonars, you would need a switch box (SB-6BK) which you would use to select the sonar you wanted to use. You would also need a transducer adapter (TA-401BK) between one switch box lead and the Ultra.

I had a Eagle of some sort (junk) and upgraded to it's relative the X-85 and they both work off the same transducer. Difference between units was night and day! Now I'm looking for the upgrade for the X-85-think I'll try thelegend 3000 and X-15 in dash??!!
