Going to McConaughy first part of June. Can anyone give any help suggestions for a first timer? I am not much of a walleye fisherman, mostly fly fishing, but would really like to show up my buddy from Minnesota. Thanks for the help.

the fish should be shallower than 13 foot-don't be afraid to fish as shallow as 3 foot. This might include casting cranks to structure also. Generally a good crawler bite at that time of year. Leaches are over-rated. If you do want to try them, bring your own. If all else fails try trolling the face of the dam after dark with shallow baits. Keeping the boat in less than 7-8 feet of water. And the very last ditch effort would be to troll suspended fish out in the basin over deep water.
Bring a 4x4 to put the boat in you will need it. Might only be 2 ramps open when you get there.
not to sound grim, there are still plenty of fish, just a lot more beach than anybody wants to see.
