I've made a commitment to take out some people who have never fished before. I thought it might be best to set them all up with bobbers. On the few occasions that I've fished with a bobber, I've always just set it by finding the bottom and then sliding the bobber stop to the appropriate position. Today on Lindner's Angling Edge, Al used something he called a bottom tester or bottom finder. It looked like it would be a lot faster if you had a bunch of bobbers to set. Who makes the best ones, and where can I buy them?

you can also use a snap weight or a bell sinker with back to back snaps if you can't find a store bought model
i have some but don't really know who makes them

Just use a simple depth finder like Linders did on TV. We use them Ice fishing, and also for setting slip bobbers. They are simple and cost less than a dollar. The local bait shop should have them if you are anywhere where lakes are froze.

You should be able to find this or another mfg's at any bait/tackle shop.

Not sure what you are talking about but I use a depth finder which is basically a clip with weight that clips onto your hook. These are made for ice fishing and bobber fishing.
