I am going to Florida for a little warm up, and I will probebly do a little fishing in the gulf. I have braided line on my reels, can I use this or will it soak up salt water and cause issues? Should I switch to mono?

Thanks moreyes

You can use the braid as long as the other reels you are using are braid, because if you get a double hooked up and you have braid on one and mono on the other and the two lines tough under pressure the braid will cut the mono like nothing. Lots of guys on the east coast use braid with floro leaders. Wouldn't recommend it for troling because there is no strech. I use it bottom fishing because there is no strech so that grouper can't get back in his cave

Moreyes,
I'm here in Fl now and have been since Dec. I use braided on everything,I troll in the Gulf for Grouper and use my Line Counters from Erie with 65# PP on them and either 80# mono leaders or #7 wire. On my spinning reels I use 20# PP with 30# floro leaders. The braid works great for both applications.I'm in the Ft Myers area on Pine Island. In the 80's almost every day now!!! Huck
