[b]I'm guessing about 1/2 to 3/4 of you guys will find this post not that interesting. But I'm also guessing the ones who fish the Saginaw Bay will be tickled (HOT-PINK) over it.
One of the really upsetting things I can remember about finding out that Normark was not only buying the Storm Lure Company, but was gutting the Crankbait line, was that us guys fishing the Saginaw Bay would never again be able to buy those custom colors that Franks Great Outdoors always carried. Those walleye killer colors like the Pinconning Paralyzer, Captains Choice, Godzilla, Boy George and about 6 or so others. These gaudy, sometimes scary colors worked miracles on days when all the natural baitfish colors in the world failed.
Then one by one different manufacturers started coming out with Storm Lure look-a-likes and made things a little better. But it's taken the son of the master himself, to bring back what was lost. I'm talking about the Dave's Ka'Booms Winning Streaks. And without breaking any advertising rules here on this board, I'll simply say I like and use these lures with success on the Saginaw Bay. But that's not really the good news.
I heard there is some talk between Dave's and Franks about bringing back those same bomb, killer custom colors in the Winning Streak design for Franks to retail this coming summer. I've already voiced my enthusiasm and approval to Pete at Franks, about how I feel about it and think it would not hurt if you Bay guys dropped Pete or Larry a little e-mail yourselves voicing your opinions. But be gentle, we don't want these customs to cost us anymore than the regular ones now do we. :D
I'm posting 6 of my favorite Custom colors on my photo gallery for you guys to reminisce over. Keep your fingers crossed and just maybe Santa will come in July this year.

Dan,
KaBoom Baits always has an open ear for new color ideas and printed patterns. They do have a custom color program for their customers. I would suggest that if someone was interested they shold go to the website and email them with a question. http://www.daveslures.com/
They're awesome lures. I just received my Purple prisms yesterday in the mail and can not wait to use them.

[b]That's true Dennis.
Like Dave's dad did, they have a 20 dozen order policy when making any custom colors for certain places or persons. But that place or person kinda steps out on a limb of sorts if those 240 particular colored lures don't catch on and aquire a fallowing. I like the idea that a place like Franks orders them, and a company like Daves builds them, all on the trust that these particular colors will sell themselves.
And if this particular deal comes off, put me down for a dozen each, especially the Paralyzer. What the heck do walleye think that thing is? :D

I'll take a dozen of each!
20 dozen?............ You mean all I have to do is get 4 other tournament fishermen like me together and we can have our secret color made? ;-)
Moderator, ax this thread ;-) I don't want the secret out just yet ;-)

Hey man, they never quit making the Pinconning Paralyzer. It just wasn't available in the usual places anymore. It went underground.

[b]Hey, Man....
You ain't gotta extra bag of those Paralyzers you wanna sell do ya? :D
Hey Capt. Dan, from left to right on your pictures can you tell me the names of those SP Tots? What is the color called next to Egomanic that is Pink HB with Red Lip. Man is that a hot looking color. Guys like me out west never saw that color. I am already a huge fan of Daves, tried the Nitro Shiners this last Monday, took four out of the box, All Ran True out of the box with no tuning & went to 12 Miles per hour before they came out of water. I don't think even my old Deep Juniors did that!!!!!! Thanks for the great posts Dennis & Dan!!!!!

It's my humble opinion that the Winning Streak has basically the same sturdy running/diving dynamics that the old Rattle Tot had. That being, you can hardly force it out of the water at any speed. I find myself telling my charter clients the same thing about the Streaks as I did the Rattlers. "Reel slower and hold that rod low when it gets close to the boat" "Because she's gonna come a flyin when she breaks the resistance of that water".
The color your talking about is the Pinconning Paralyzer. That plug will catch 1 walleye every 30 minutes when nothing else is working. I didn't just make that up either. If nothing is biting, I'll run one on each side and catch a walleye every 30 minutes on it. I swear, it happened three times just like that. All nice fish to. :D

Couldn't wait for Dave, so I copied one for myself on a Streak. Whatcha think Captain D, for a first crack at it? I'm taking your word on one walleye every 30 minutes! :)
It's a little different, so I'll have to call it the Downriver Terrorizer :7

Whoa, Very nice Terror.
But theres a couple things that you probably didn't pick up on the pictures I posted. The body is kinda light Purple colored, but looked black in the picture. And the bill is a almost fire engine red color. How much would you charge to duplicate these colors on some different Rattlers and 1/4 tot's if I sent you some? I know it's gotta be a pain in the butt to set everything up to just do a dozen or so.

Right now, masking them individually, I'd have to go around $4-5. I am devising a jig to paint stripes on Streaks and that will cut the time in 1/2 and knock the price down significantly. Keeping those stripes pink is a pain because white HAS to be the underlying color. I,m pretty sure I got the bill right. Just duplicated the red from some other Streak bills. I need a new digital camera! Light purple, huh? Not a problem.

WOW....Glad somebody got the post without the Egyptian Tomb wall drawings.
If and when you get the price down a little for a set price per dozen, shoot me an e-mail. And I'm not complaing about the price here. I know it must take about 12 different steps to accomplish some of these colors.

Will do. I'm borrowing Bladerunners welding and cutting expertise this week to make the jig.

I'm missing the meaning behind the statement above. Do you mean you manufacture Nitro's for Daves Lures, custom paint them or modify them in some ways yourself?

Walleye Express,
We are a Distributor for both Reef Runner and Dave’s Lures, We Work with both Vendors and have them Custom Paint their Lures for us and our Customers. Not on like what Franks did with the Winning Streaks.
Hope that cleared it up for you,

Ed,
I wonder where you build the Pink and White Biat for.
